After touring the five rathas temple we were soaked in sweat, it was hotter then I have ever been before. So we stopped and had a drink break and then headed to the shore temple. The Shore Temple is one of seven temples but all the others are under the Bay of Bengal. There was a tsunami in 2004 that led to the discovery of surrounding structures around the temple. There was a short time when the waters receded just before the tsunami hit where you could see the other six temples.
We had a tour guide show us around this temple as well. The tour guide was nice but not as easy to understand and contradicted him self a lot. At one point he told us the temple bathing pool had been discovered after the tsunami but then later he told us he used to swim in it everyday with his friends. So we were all like WTF are you talking about? But we were to hot to ask or really care so I just said ohhhh okay and took a photo haha. He was really amusing though and gave us VIP access to the temple. When people were in the places he wanted to show us he would have them move and then make us go in and take photos. It was amusing but probably annoyed the other tourists.
