Yesterday was my first day in India. I got off of my plane at around 4:30 am. When I arrived at Chnadra's house I was welcomed by his two uncles and aunts his cousins were still all asleep. Then Chandra and I had Peanut butter and honey on toast :) He bought it for me so I could have an American breakfast every morning and then try Indian food the rest of the day. Chandra's aunt also gave me some potatoes she was cooking for lunch to have with my toast, which were really good. After we ate Chandra and I took a nap so I wouldn't have jet-lag.
Once we woke up I met Chandra's cousins and had lunch that his aunt prepared for us. It was really good. She also cooked dinner for us in the evening which was also good :). I am starting to get used to Indian food:). After lunch Chandra gave me a tour of his house.
Before dinner Chandra and I went to get ice cream and meet up with his friend Sri who lives in NYC. I got vanilla soft serve dipped in chocolate it was like being at home :). After eating ice cream we went back to Chandra's house and watched his cousins play cricket in his back yard. Then we had dinner and hung out around his house.

Kollam - drawing made with something similar to chalk powder it is a holly symbol. Behind it is an enclosure for the lamp. They light the lamp every evening to show that god is there and to honor god. |
